Looking for a longer series to be completely immersed in. I love escapist fiction and have checked out some popular titles like Red Rising, but the proportion of action to meaningful dialogue was a little too skewed to action for my taste. That said, I still enjoyed the series (especially the later books since they were a little more mature).
What are some of your favorites that are a little lighter on the action? Bonus points if it has some thought provoking themes 🙂

I liked The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers.
The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. The first part still has some useless action scenes, but not many, and the second and third books are even better.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.
I know it’s YA, but it gives me such a good vibe.
The Spiral Wars by Joel Shepard
