Hello! I’m a girl who never really got into reading. All my coworkers are avid readers and get books that they literally can’t put down. I’ve never felt that way with books. It’s always felt like a chore to me.
Some things that I like. Movies/ shows/ themes
– I just finished game of thrones 10/10
– apocalypse/ zombies
– physiological thrillers
– paranormal horror
– dramas (13 reasons why, euphoria)
Some things I don’t like
– not a fan of romance but not opposed to it
– slow books
Some books I liked in the past( all from when I was in school)
– the outsiders
– mice of men
– the great gatsby
– any Edgar Allen Poe poem/ story
Also just a little thing. When people say they can imagine/ see what they are reading. I’ve never been able to do that. It’s just words on a page going into my brain. Maybe that is because I’ve never had enjoyed a book so much that I could get into that mind state of imagining it. Any suggestions would help. Thank you!

Hello! Based on what you’re into, you might enjoy [Dread Nation by Justinia Ireland. ](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30223025-dread-nation)It’s an alternate American history with zombies. It’s pretty fast-paced, has engaging characters, and the narrator’s voice really carries you through. I’m not a see-things-you’re-reading person either, so I think what I need more to carry me through a book is a good narrative voice.
I hope you find something you like! Don’t beat yourself up if it takes a long time.
Check out Nora Roberts Sign of Seven trilogy. Should be able to get it at the library.
#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts presents a collection that includes all three novels in her Sign of Seven Trilogy—a compelling paranormal romance series about three brothers bound by fate, blood, and a timeless enemy.
In the town of Hawkins Hollow, every seven years, on the seventh day of the seventh month, strange things happen. It began when three young boys—Caleb, Fox, and Gage—went on a camping trip to The Pagan Stone…
BLOOD BROTHERS
Though he can never forget the beginning of the terror in the woods twenty-one years ago, Caleb Hawkins knows the signs have never been this strong before. To stop the coming evil, he must turn to an unexpected ally, beautiful reporter Quinn Black.
THE HOLLOW
Since that day at The Pagan Stone, Fox O’Dell has been able to see into others’ minds. Now, he must convince Layla that their shared abilities are worth beliving in, because their link will help fight the darkness that threatens to engulf the town.
THE PAGAN STONE
Gage Turner knows that a woman like strong, beautiful Cybil can only bring him luck. Good or bad has yet to be determined—and could mean the difference between absolute destruction or an end to Hawkins Hollow’s nightmare.
My go to book rec for people who want to get into reading is Holes by Louis Sachar, because it appeals to all ages, has really short chapters, and is super engaging!
