Disclaimer: Don't just write the title of the book and the character from there. Write about it in more detail, even if it will be a spoiler (a sign to hide >!!<). Otherwise, the post may accidentally fall under rule 3.3.
Many of us have read a book in which the author wants us to empathize with the hero, but prescribes him very poorly, which is why he is annoying.
For example: Emilia from KIngdom of the Wicked. The author wanted us to sympathize with her, but she was too dumb, arrogant and too lucky. I was especially enraged by the moment >! When Wrath told her to stay in the house, because it was safe, she decided to leave right away, because before that he said, "Decide for yourself." As a result, she was captured by one of the princes of hell. !< I was ready to yell, "Are you stupid?!".

Good ol’ Arfy
We’re supposed to love Mr Rochester in Jane Eyre, but certainly to modern readers he’s a red flag decorated with smaller red flags.
