I read mostly highly revered author's works. I know they're highly revered because I find them on the "must read", "best author", "ultimate reading guide" lists. I find them by typing in "site:reddit.com best authors" to Google. My goodreads reading log maps very well to a "best books to read to become a generic well-read reader" list.
Could you recommend books that you really enjoyed or come back to that may not reach the critic's threshold for one reason or another?
