As the title says, I’m in search of very well researched and accurate espionage fiction that looks at contemporary geopolitics, even better if it’s concerning relations between Russia/America, FSB/CIA, cyber warfare, etc. Not looking for Cold War era fiction. Will take suggestions detailing any well written/researched modern espionage!

I’d also be interested in such a book if a good recommendation comes through. I’m guessing the “well researched” part is difficult, since modern espionage, by its nature, will still be held secret.

Something that isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but which might be adjacent, is be Neal Stephenson’s _Cryptonomicon_. It’s told in two timelines, one during WWII involving military espionage and Nazi gold, and the other in the modern world involving high-stakes corporate espionage and hacking. Both stories involve cryptography and the information theory of acting on intelligence without tipping your hand that you have it.

Have you read Red Sparrow? Seems like it might be what you’re looking for.
