Hi! I’m looking for a contemporary/non-fantasy romance book with a protagonist either in the medical profession (doctor, nurse) or with one who’s superstitious or into wellness, health or new age spirituality. Either young adult or adult for the character’s ages. Would also love to read something with accurate disability and or/chronic illness representation.

I’m up for anything as long as they fulfil one of the tropes above!

But, for more specifics, I’m a sucker for slow burns, strangers to lovers, friends to lovers and I love when the relationships between the characters are really sweet/romantic and develop out of affection instead of pure physical attraction (though friends with benefits to lovers can be interesting sometimes!). I prefer flowery prose and a more poetic style of writing with lots of description. I /really/ don’t like the kind of simple, short writing style populating the romance genre nowadays, like Colleen Hoover.

It’s really oddly specific because I’m autistic and really struggle to read new things or start new shows unless it’s somehow related to my special interest or something I’ve personally experienced, hence the super specific tropes. I’d love any suggestions!
