Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels got me out of a reading slump! *Mort* and *Equal Rites* are decent starting places if you want something to get insightful passages from. Though if you want to go in chronological order, *The Color of Magic* was the first, and is still very good.
Alternatively *Lamb* by Christopher Moore. It’s “the gospel according to Biff, Christ’s childhood pal.” Jesus learns kung-fu, it’s great. It’s a solid bible novelization, it’s hilarious, and it has the most dramatic take on Jesus’ sacrifice I’ve seen.
