I have tried to find a good starting point for reading Rumi's poetry, but I haven't found robust translation recommendations. For anyone who has read it, could you suggest the translations that best preserve the essence and beauty of the language Rumi uses?
Speaking of, sometimes english does not have the same words/ effect that other languages (in this case Persian) would have. Would people recommend reading a hindi translation (that is another language i can read in)? if so, which ones?
if you have read an urdu translation and think its the next best thing, please let me know! i can read urdu but my hindi is far better…
