I’m in need of finding a text for an essay.
I made the mistake of thinking Lolita was written pre-1900 (I’m an idiot, ik) and now I need something else with the same themes to write about instead. Themes could be child abuse, domestic abuse, manipulation, innapropriate power dynamics in relationships etc.
any help would be amazing, ty 🙂

Maybe (but take with a grain of salt because I haven’t read it yet) “What Maisie Knew” by Henry James. Not directly the same themes, but still fitting into the category of abuse/neglect as far as I know.
