Personally I can’t stand romance books or books that aren’t romance genre but are heavily influenced by romance. Every time I go to the store / bookstore I have trouble finding books that have little to no romance. (Best example are books that are sci-fi or fiction but have love triangles involved)
I prefer sci-fi, fantasy, or general fiction (but I will read anything that isn’t romance lol) and I would really love to have some book recommendations that don’t lean too heavily into romantic relationships

I just recently finished reading the Mirror Visitor series by Christelle Dabos and I loved it. It’s a fantasy series with mystery, suspense and a political intrigue.
The main focus is definitely the mystery and the political games, the two mcs do have something going on but it’s not at all the main focus of the books.
Floating celestial islands, family spirits, immortal ancestors, supernatural powers and political games are all the books are about.
My friend recommended me a while ago and when I started I couldn’t stop reading, the story, world-building and the characters are simply amazing. I definitely recommend.
