Terry Pratchett… specifically anything in the guards series
Don Quixote.
Catch 22, Great Expectations was surprisingly funny and The Princess Bride. Also the All Creatures series,
The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt, while not strictly a comedy, had its moments.
Seconding Red Dwarf. Was my favorite book growing up. Absolutely hilarious.
Don Quixote.
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas
a Connecticut Yankee in king Arthurs court
the letters of George Bernard Shaw
and any collection of witticisms by O. Wilde
