I’m looking for books that are not set during post-apocalyptic times, but more happened in the run-up. The buildup is the thing I find most interesting in disaster fiction.
I’m fine with reading that everything turns to crap and the world is apocalyptic afterwards, but I want a good chunk of the book to be getting there.
