My daughter (4th grade) reads at a 7th grade level, which is generally great, but I've noticed I need to be more aware of what she's reading. For example, she was reading "True Beauty" today (True Beauty, Vol. 1 by Yaongyi), which I was scanning as she was reading, and the main character was very shallow and obsessed with looks. I didn't think it was a positive message at all.
So, any suggestions for books that are like True Beauty, but with better messages? I'll note that we're okay with mild swearing or somewhat intimate themes.
