I'm looking for a book (ideally a military memoir, but a history book would do as well) about the American wars in Afghanistan or Iraq. I've looked around a bit, but I can't find many. I'd like to read one from the perspective of a military service member, if such a thing exists. Anyone know of any or read a good one?

    1. Generation Kill might be what you’re looking for (even though it’s written by a Rolling Stones reporter) – it was also made into a HBO miniseries

Not what you asked for at all, but what I thought of for your request, I read Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson in high school and found it really impactful.

    3. They haven’t had time to write them. They’re still unpacking everything.
Also, many are still in their careers and would be subject to UCMJ depending on what they wrote.
