I’ve recently remembered a semi-fictional novel as a kid, would have to be something published in the late 90’s or earlier. It was a young girl’s perspective during the Chinese cultural revolution, I remember repeated scenes where flyers where distributed through out the city, her family eventually attempting to leave the country, the cover had soft yellows and reds and possibly was a temple or the Great Wall.
Any suggestions on what it might be?
