I have had a few incredible recommendations for biographies from here. After reading a good few history books I’ve come to realise I much prefer historical biographies. Books about the shaping of that person and the impact they had on the world. I much prefer these to sweeping world history books. Please recommend some must reads!

For someone whose impact on the world is greatly underappreciated: *Betraying Spinoza: The Renegade Jew Who Gave Us Modernity*, by Rebecca Goldstein.
I guess it’s coming up on the 50th anniversary of The Power Broker, there’s going to be a whole museum exhibit about it and him
