Recently read Rick Perlstein’s series on the origins of modern conservatism and I’ve been wanting to dig more into political history. Any time period before the 21st century is fine. Preferably not a biography unless it’s focused on their career rather than the full details of their personal life. I’m fine with “boring” books that mainly have maps and/or data.

Not the electoral process, but I found {{Kill Switch: The Rise of the Modern Senate and the Crippling of American Democracy by Adam Jentleson}} very informative. It’s about the history and development of the filibuster.
