I am a 20yo male who has been struggling with years of patriarchal indoctrination.
I started reading Bell Hooks's book about love, men, and masculinity and I find it insightful and helpful.
I am looking for any fiction books that could be relatable and insightful as a young boy questioning the system.
For context, I am in a relationship and my partner has taught me so much about my behavior and tendencies. I have hurt her and our relationship before and I am just now understanding how selfish and destructive the dominant male perspective can be. I've always thought of myself as a conscious boy but I now realize that I participate in patriarchy in subtle ways and it has affected my ability to love and to be loved.
Ill take any book recs. I'm still new to this topic so I am open to anything:0

Persuasion by Jane Austen
It’s nonfiction but you would benefit from Shrill by Lindy West I think.
