I recently read Andrea Lankford’s new book Trail of the Lost, which is about the search effort to find three PCT thru-hikers who went missing.

The book provides insights into hiking culture from trail angels to trail trolls, and I was wondering if there were other books that are similar.

I’m especially interested in non-fiction books about or connected the to Appalachian Trail, The Continental Divide Trail, and the Pacific Crest Trail.

    Thank you!

    1. If you’d like a more humorous, light-hearted take, Bill Bryson’s *A Walk in the Woods* is very good. He walked sections of the Appalachian Trail and discusses some of the culture and people he met along the way, along with a history of the trail.
