books for me and my bf to buddy read?

hi!! my bf isn’t a very big reader, but said that he would try and buddy read something since i enjoy it a lot. im down to read about anything, it might just be him who is harder to please lol!

he says that he enjoys mysteries, and something that is a bit easier to understand, so nothing too incredibly dense.

he really likes the game firewatch too and expressed interest in a book like it, so maybe that’s character driven, introspective, mountain / nature settings. he also really enjoys horror games so i think a horror book would be fun, though i don’t often read horror.

please give some suggestions!
