Hi!
I recently finished The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch and I absolutely loved it. The world itself was extremely interesting, and I loved how the inherently fantastical idea of time travel was grounded in the framework of military bureaucracy. It reminded me of a mix of the first season of True Detective, Mindhunter, and Stargate. I would love to find other books that have a similar vibe.
They don't have to be strictly science fiction like TGW, I would love something that has the same vibe of an FBI agent or something uncovering a sprawling mystery.
