I’ve rarely encountered newer crime fiction where half the plot isn’t about a gritty detective’s personal problems or an unnecessary developing romance between the detective and some random journalist.
Do any such crime fiction novel where none of that happens even exist? And the only plot is the actual solving of the case? (I’m not interested in true crime)
