A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara is one of those books I came across during the end of the pandemic, and yes, whilst I enjoyed reading it, I felt like it was slightly over-hyped in the way that people were saying things like "it'll make you cry" or "it's just torture-porn".
At the end of the day, I just felt depleted
at how much negative crap happened within the book. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't in the right headspace (mainly because of the amount of triggers within the book).
