My friend and I like to read books to each other and we need suggestions on what to read next. Preferably a sci-fi but fantasy is fine as well. New or classic, don’t matter as long as it’s a good and fun read, we prefer it not be too dense and serious. If it’s part of a must read series even better.

*The Moon is a Harsh Mistress* by Robert Heinlein
The Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold.
Start with either Cordelia’s Honor or The Warrior’s Appreciate
For fantasy reads that aren’t too dense or serious I would recommend either Kings of the Wyld, or Orcomonics.
Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames follows a group of old adventures getting back together for one last adventure, there are some laughs along the way and a surprising amount of heart hidden just beneath the surface.
Orcomonics is a satire on capitalism, but it’s really not too dense at all. It’s set in a kingdom where adventuring is the main economic driver, dungeons and loot are monetized by the kingdom. We follow a band of misfits on a quest, with probably less heart than Kings of the Wyld, but still a fair amount.
If you’ve got any questions let me know.
