I find it very easy to find non-fiction on all these subjects, but finding books from modern writers that deal with these themes is proving quite a lot harder than I though, never mind stories that might combine them

Author Greg Bear wrote Darwin’s Radio and Darwin’s children dealing with accelerated evolution… its been a while since i read them… i seem to recall comparing humans replacing neanderthals as consequence of evolution… and it could happen to humans in future. Not sure it comes close to what you are looking for.. Darwin’s Radio won endeavour award.
