What are the best fiction pieces you have read that you can escape to or some of your favorite ‘dark’ any genre recommendations?

I really like Fiction and can’t get enough of worlds that are unlike the one we live in. I have enjoyed a lot of supernatural and shapeshifting books, but have now wanted to broaden my horizons to science fiction, historical fiction, horror, thriller, and dark romance. I have been very picky about what I read but I have been trying to be different and read different things.

Can you please suggest me some of your favorite fictional books/worlds to visit or just put down some books you enjoyed that might go into the categories?
