Preferably written as journal entries, and ideally around the artic or antarctica (mountains of madness is one of my favorite books). I'm not interested in dramatized books covering historical non fiction events in the past tense, by an author that wasn't present. It could just be day to day life at sea. My main interest is a first account of open water.
