She loves stories and I want to start reading her some non-pictire books.
Growing up I enjoyed a lot of books with leading men and would love some books with some female protagonists. Adventure fantasy type books, with some wholesome story lines. I
Any books anyone can recommend? I was thinking something with a story style similar to city of ember but with less doomsday/post apocalyptic content.

I think Amari and the Night Brothers could be exactly what you’re looking for! ETA: Some others that could work: The Tale of Despereaux, Matilda, Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun, The Secret Library, and The BFG
[The Princess in Black](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20708771-the-princess-in-black) series is a good introduction to chapter books, although there are monsters and the fight between good & evil.
