I’m at an age where YA doesn’t do much for me anymore and all my friends and family keep recommending this genre to me. I’m 32F looking for something to really sink my teeth into. I really love Patrick rothfuss (rich story telling), N.K Jemisin(broken earth trilogy for the depth of the main characters suffering and growth), Anne rice( for the way she can write sadness into her characters), Steve berry (love how he adds bits of historical locations), Richard Morgan (altered carbon is such a trip), Stephen king (adore his collections of short stories), Dan brown (love all the religious affiliations), Tolkien, Steig larson and George R.R Martin for a few examples. Just read the discovery of witches series and it was ok but fell short for me towards the end of the series. Bought the entire court of thorns and roses series but I can’t get into it. I want something I will binge cover to cover. I’m ok with stand alone books or series. I don’t typically do romance, non fiction, or autobiographies. I love the occult, fantasy, ancient civilizations, religious conspiracies, mysteries, thrillers, horror. I just seem to be having trouble with finding my preferred topics with more mature themes. Appreciate any recommendations.
