I know there are a lot of romance books where the characters have some childhood wound. But I’m specifically looking for ones where they don’t resolve the wound with the family and choose to just cut the family off. I can’t seem to find ones with well-developed family conflicts. (And none of that miscommunication trope)
Romance/contemporary set in adulthood or even college is ideal.
