The trial and death of Socrates by Plato (short classic)
Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky (short classic)
Unconventional pick: The duty of genius by Ray Monk (biography of Ludwig Wittgenstein, who tried to “end” philosophy while also reading very little of it. Interesting life. Book is filled with a lot of letter excerpts and transcripts of arguments he had with other philosophers)

Its a novel but The Razor’s Edge by W. Somerset Maugham is excelleny
I’m currently in the same boat as you and have recently picked up [Think by Simon Blackburn](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Think-Compelling-Introduction-Simon-Blackburn/dp/0192854259) and it’s been an amazing way to touch base with philosophy. It reads more like a casual conversation with someone explaining the basics to you which I love!
