Hi! Been thinking recently about how most romance books fall flat for me. The only romance in media I’ve found compelling recently is the Pixar movie elemental;
I found it to be super cute and innocent but also touching. The wiki for the movie says it draws from the directors experience as a son of immigrants in NYC in the 1970s and inspired by movies like Amelie, moonstruck, and guess who’s coming to dinner.
