Looking for a coming of age or fiction set in modern society that’s written as a first person narrative. In a perspective of male in his early or mid 20s/30s ealing with different things in life. Can include friendship, career, hardships, and etc. Something similar to The Goldfinch, or The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Or a YA fiction about a group of friends, set in summer.

Paper Castles by B Fox is probably exactly what you’re looking for. Contemporary, told in first person from a 28 year old guy’s POV. It’s about struggle at work, trying to find purpose, love and also about generational trauma. It’s one of my favorite books ever!
