Can I please get some suggestions for books that are descriptive with lots of character development. I generally prefer lengthier reads so definitely open to series, but ideally would want it to be complete.

I’m open to various genres but have mostly gravitated towards fantasy.

Books that I enjoy are LOTR, ASOIAF, and The name of the wind.

    Thanks!

My usual recommendation for people who liked ASOIAF is the Realm of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb. It’s also medieval political intrigue in situations with no really good solution but on a smaller scale and complete at sixteen books divided into five story arcs. The first is Assassin’s Apprentice

Michelle Wests The Sun Sword. It is part of a larger series called The Chronicles of Essalieyan, which is not yet finished, but it absolutely stands alone.

Melanie Rawn’s Dragon Prince and Dragon Star.

      I agree with Robin Hobb.

You may like Wheel of Time, it’s a very descriptive series, with good character development and worldbuilding.
