My 14 year old brother claims that the only good books in the world are Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. (He puts everything else down after reading two pages). What are some books/series that he might like based on those picks?

Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins. The protagonist is 11 and I know some kids are weird about reading books with a younger protagonist. It’s a really quality series that doesn’t doesn’t talk down to the reader or feel childish, so should be fine as long as he gives it a chance
He’d also probably like Hunger Games (also by Suzanne Collins)
Less well known, but perhaps the Septimus Heap series
The Bartimaeus books by Jonathan Stroud
[Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend! It’s my favorite series, and the only one that makes me feel the way the Harry Potter books used to.
The Merlin series by TA Barron are absolutely magical.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
OK, going waaaaaaay (1971!) back here, but check out The Destroyer series (Remo Williams is the protagonist) by Warren Murphy.
