I'm a caregiver and I listen to a lot of audiobooks. They're kind of my escape… so I'm looking for light, palate-cleansing books rather than heart-heavy ones. I've asked similar questions here before, but I have some specific titles this time and I think the other suggestions were a little too heavy for what I need right now.

I find comfort and solidarity in books that mention aging, caregiving, dementia, and, yes, loss. These are hard issues but some of the books I've read recently handle them in a true-to-life, realistic way…weaving them into larger stories. They show how people still live lives while coping with these issues and don't focus entirely on the issues. that's what makes them more of an "escape." And I want more of them!

These are books I've read so far and I'm looking for similar titles:

    1. The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise by Colleen Oakley
    2. Flying Solo by Linda Holmes
    3. The Lonely Hearts Book Club by Lucy Gilmore
    4. Mrs. Nash's Ashes by Sarah Adler
    5. Thank you for Listening by Julia Whelan
    6. Happy Medium by Sarah Adler –> Currently reading and looking for a new book to start when I finish!

    TIA!
