I started reading again after years, and I’m into classics so I picked up The Great Gatsby.
I enjoy the fact that simple phrases are turned into imagery/symbolism but I don’t always understand the meaning behind the symbols/images so sometimes I look them up, and I got spoiled too many times it got me a little upset about this because I enjoy understanding almost every word and phrase the writer wrote and I love imagining the image the author set, but in order to do that I’m getting spoiled because titles keep showing up on Google i.e. “x’s death”, “x doesnt end up with y”, “symbol behind x not ending up with y”, or sometimes even in the explanation there’s a spoiler.
So how do you understand a book without getting spoilers?

Also I’m not sure if this is the place to write this post, I’m starting reading again and I’d love to understand everything and not get spoiled at the same time for future books.
