English isn’t my first language and I use to dread reading but since moving to an english speaking country i started reading as it seems useful, a good hobby and would also improve my english proficiency.
I’ve only read ‘lighter’ themes books outside of school assigned books. seems to like historical fiction but wants to get into other genres too. I seem to enjoy glamour lifestyles and issues tackling classism but wants to get into others too ; maybe feminism and friendships, loneliness etc. Sometimes i would like to avoid racism as I read about them too much in school and would like to explore other topics
Something that is fairly easily digestible would be nice as i’m 17F
Books i’ve chose to read:
– 7 husbands of evelyn hugo (piqued my interest in books, i enjoyed the world of rich ppl n dealing with public image)
– city of girls (got it as a suggestion to books like evelyn hugo)
– a sky painted gold (picked it up in a library)
– delilah green doesn’t care (i wrote a school essay about homophobia so wanted to know about the topic and picked up this book, i enjoy the themes about loneliness and friendships)
Books i read in school:
– my place by sally morgan
– Of Mice and Men by steinbeck
– freedom ride
– the happiest refugee
books i’m interested / in my list:
– malibu rising
– ikigai
– tipping the velvet
– great gatsby (classic)
– the grapes of wrath
– little women
