Bonus if the book falls into both genres lol.
My favorite fantasy books include the Stormlight Archive, Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I’m not looking for more Sanderson books, the last two books I read were his and I’m currently re-listening to the Stormlight audiobooks. I LOVE his worlds and characters but I need a break before I jump into The Sunlit Man.
I also really enjoyed The Martian and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, so I’m not opposed to standalone science fiction books.
I haven’t read much clean romance books so I can’t tell you what I like in that genre, but I’m dying to find a good one. I don’t mind if the romance is a subplot, as long as it’s done well and is satisfying (… so not like Sanderson’s romance subplots lol).
Not looking for a series. Just a standalone. I also need a break from epics lol.
*I define clean romance as romance without sex scenes. I don’t mind some spicy moments or if sex is alluded to, I just don’t want to read explicit sex scenes.
