Might be too specific, but since reading "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" by Becky Chambers about 7 years ago, I've been looking to get the feeling that book gave me again.
No one's out to save the universe, there's no big bad. The crew experience things good and bad together and it's all part of the journey as you learn about them and the universe.
If there any follow up suggestions it would be great. I have of course read the other Wayfarers books.
I've read Hitchhiker's Guide, I've read Ann Leckie's Ancillary books + Provenance. I've watched Firefly, Cowboy Bebop and played Mass Effect to death and I'm looking for a new crew to fall in love with.

*Chilling Effect*, by Valerie Valdes.
I might recommend Wreckers by George Ellis. It’s not as cosy as Small Angry Planet but it gives a similar vibe. It’s a good, funny and fun to read book. Although it’s a standalone book, the author gave way to sequels. You never know, he may turn this into a series.
