He loves history books, topics like WW2 and the Vietnam war specifically. He said he likes western U.S. history, but I guess not the bad stuff. He doesn’t believe that racism still has an impact on people living today. I’m specifically interested in getting him a book with personal experiences from indigenous peoples in the east/southeast U.S..

Oof. If you haven’t read “The Inconvenient Indian” that’s a good one. Or! “Where White Men Fear to Tread”.. both are excellent (I teach Indigenous histories and cultures as a profession)
