Suggest books to listen to in the car on a road trip
I generally prefer historical fiction, biographies, memoirs or classics, but am pretty open to suggestion. Need the books to not have sexual content since there will be kids in the car.
I just listened to “Little Lord Fauntleroy” from the Audible Plus catalog. It’s great for adults and kids if they can do non-contemporary classics. It’s masterfully read by Virginia Leishman
“A Long Way From Chicago” by Richard Peck
“Rainbow Valley” by LM Montgomery and read by Grace Conlin (my preferred narrator of this book)
“To Kill a Mockingbird” masterfully read by Sissy Spacek.
“West with the Night” by Beryl Markham and beautifully read by Julie Harris. The kids may not care for it but it’s a captivating listen with no foul language or sexual tones.
