in a bit of a reading slump atm and looking for something kinda light and uplifting and makes you appreciate life. I am open to pretty much any genre unless it's cheesy romance bc I just can't do that. If it helps some of my favourite books are white nights – dostoevsky, giovanni's room – baldwin, little women, TSOA
I read a lot of horrors and sad books but I'm looking for something that won't me cry myself to sleep, basically the opposite of a little life

Maybe one of these? They all have some romance in them, but it’s not really the main focus:
“Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman
“The House in the Cerulean Sea” by TJ Klune
“A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman
“The Rosie Project” by Graeme Simsion – This is more of a romcom, but because of the humor and character development, it doesn’t feel like a traditional romance.
“Where’d You Go, Bernadette” by Maria Semple
“The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin
“The Authenticity Project” by Clare Pooley
“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
No one talks about this one but ‘Leonard and Hungry Paul’ is suchhhh a good feel-good book!!! I highly highly recommend esp if you are more introverted!
