I listened to the audio of Nothing to See Here and Now is Not the Time to Panic and really loved both. I think it's something about the tone of voice of just normal people trying to navigate life and then ending up in weird circumstances and accepting them, the realistic, easiness of character relationships, the themes aren't heavy but they carry weight and meaning… It's always hard to describe why an author or book clicks with you.

You guys know any authors who just write about real life with all its strangeness in a natural seeming way? I also really like Richard Russo's Nobody's Fool, anything by Stephen King because I love his characters, Jane Eyre, some Jane Austen novels, some Christopher Moore, The Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek from Kim Michele Richardson, The Godfather, really books that are character driven seem to hit home for me.
