So I’m in a book club that just started up. I unfortunately missed our first meet up where we were to read Where the Crawdads Sing. Theme is to pick a book that has been made into film. Someone suggested Normal People. I hadn’t even heard of the TV series. Our next meet up is mid-July so u just purchased and (e-book) and began reading it. The lack of quotations around the dialogue is seriously annoying me and turning me off the book in whole even though I haven’t even got into the meat of the plot.
Thoughts on using quotations or lack thereof in books? Thoughts on if I should power through my annoyance because the plot/book is worth the read despite lack of quotation marks for the dialogue?
