hi, there's probably a better way I could have phrased my title, but I am an avid reader who has experienced a lot of trauma in their own life and I find a lot of beauty in prose that accurately captures/conveys the complex processing and thought patterns I myself am trying to heal from. the things they carried by tim o'brian, the bell jar by sylvia plath, and the handmaid's tale by margaret atwood are some of my favorites in that regard. the subject matter is less important to me I think than stylistic choices and the beauty/emotion of the language itself. nabokov is another favorite author of mine for comparison. I'm not sure if any of this makes sense or not, I just find comfort in feeling seen and knowing that others out there know the intricacies of this battle with oneself and the situation the same way I do.
