Pretty cool little reading challenge to get you to branch out. The challenge is to finish 10 age appropriate (like your reading level) books by July 27th that cover the following categories:

    1. A book you've been meaning to read. (Slewfoot by Brom)
    2. A book recommended by a librarian (still need to talk to them about it)
    3. A book about a place you've never been (haven't decided yet, and haven't been many places lol)
    4. A non-fiction book (Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir by Eddie Huang)
    5. A book chosen by its cover (Diavola by Jennifer Thorne)
    6. A book with a genre new to you (Pizza Girl by Jean Kyoung Frazier, coming of age genre)
    7. A book published the year you were born (High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, 1995 baby)
    8. A book by an author you haven't read (The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi)
    9. A book of poetry / written in verse (lost on this one, not familiar with poetry at all)
    10. A book you can finish in a day (Goddess of Filth by V. Castro)

very excited for number 4 because i never branch outside of fiction, and memoirs seem cool

would love some recs on what you'd read for numbers 3 and 9, and also if you love or hate any of what i'm planning. there's always time to change the list up.

3 — maybe this is cheating a bit, but a sci-fi novel set in an alien world might be fun

9 — maybe a book of translated poems from Pablo Neruda? Walt Whitman is also classic
