I'm looking for a nonfiction book (or books) about the entire colonial history of India, starting from the arrival of the British (or Portuguese, or French) to the end of the colonial era, ending with India's independence.
I know that's a lot of years and too many events for a single book, so I'm actually looking for multiple books that cover different eras, but don't omit anything (not too much at least), and are good overviews.
