I have been reading ya fantasy for years now and I do like them. Now I’m almost 28 and am getting a bit tired of reading about 17 year olds and what not.
I would also like to read more contemporary as I can have a hard time starting a big fantasy sometimes. Every now and then, usually after a big fantasy, I like to read something “boring”.
I do like magical realism but have only read ones where the main character is a teen. Never been one for romance but I don’t mind the book having it.
I have some gift cards to use, so what do I get?

For magical realism you can try [Garden Spells](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/127d934c-4d7e-448c-adfd-2bdb7a7209de) by Sarah Addison Allen and [The Book Charmer](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/20da6dc4-0a19-442f-b175-f3c3f47e9d3a) by Karen Hawkins.
Circe by Madeline Miller is quite good. And anything by Virginia Andrews (My Sweet Audrina is my favorite). Andrews isn’t like. fantasy. but her writing is very captivating.
