NPR doesn't outright deny that book banning is happening. They don't take a position. However, they spend most of their time platforming (unchallenged) promoters of book bans, obfuscating the real harm that comes with book bannings over f***ing semantics. Frankly, I find the entire piece concerning.

Haven’t listened to the piece, but by platforming do you mean interviewing or?
What is platforming? Is there a transcript?
In addition to making sure they don’t have a platform, we should ban their literature from being published.
The piece linked by OP is only a few minutes long and is a brief discussion of what the term “book ban” means. One institution considers a book banned if it has been challenged at all, another only if it has been fully removed from a library system. They discuss availability of books from sources other than schools and libraries, and contrast the United States to governments where books are banned from sale or distribution.
